About Our Firm

Structural Concepts Incorporated Consulting Engineers (SCI) is a certified DBE and SBE structural engineering firm. As a woman-owned company, Structural Concepts is one of the few structural engineering firms holding a Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (DBE) status in Southern Arizona. SCI has extensive experience providing structural engineering consulting and design services for multiple sectors throughout Arizona and neighboring states with emphasized focus on civil infrastructure, bridges, low-rise buildings and specialty structures.

SCI is a small business and offers clients a nimble and flexible resource for small projects, medium-sized projects or for segments of larger projects. We take pride in the long-standing and successful relationships we have developed with regional jurisdictional clients, prime consultants and contractors. We are licensed throughout the Southwest, Iowa and Ohio, and we pursue licenses in other states as needs arise.

Our History

In the earlier years of their careers, Dan Lundwall and George Stevenson individiually developed reputations in Southern Arizona as dependable and honest structural engineers. After working as colleagues at a local structural engineering firm, Dan and George decided to go out on their own. They founded Structural Concepts Inc. in 1992 with the joint commitment to provide exceptional structural engineering services based on technical excellence and sound business principle. SCI’s inaugural project that helped to catapult their success included the design of six bridge overpasses for the widening of Interstate-10 in Tucson, Arizona. For nearly 25 successful years in partnership, Dan and George fostered their commmitment to service and established SCI’s reputation for cost effective, yet innovative, structural design solutions. In 2015, Dan and George invited Jennifer Patronski to join the company leadership. Today, SCI is owned and administered by Jennifer, but the legacy built by Dan and George is still honored.
