Structural Concepts, Inc. Consulting Engineers has an immediate opportunity for a licensed structural engineer with 10+ years of experience. Primarily focusing on clients in Southern Arizona, SCI has performed services for clients throughout the United States and into Mexico. We provide structural analysis, design, and evaluation of new or existing structures for civil infrastructure, bridges, low-rise buildings, mining, and specialty structures within multiple sectors.

Job Description

SCI is seeking a licensed structural engineer with experience in the design of both horizontal and vertical structures. The ideal candidate will possess exceptional technical skills, excellent communication skills, and be capable of working individually or collectively with our team and clients. The candidate will work independently, manage team members, and/or work collaboratively with other staff engineers. Responsibilities will include structural engineering, analysis, and design; preparation of structural calculations, drawings, reports, and specifications; field investigations; and construction phase services. Experience performing or overseeing structural special inspections is beneficial. Participation in local associations and engineering community activities is encouraged, but not required.

Job Requirements


  • 10 years+ of structural engineering experience

  • An accredited Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering with emphasis in structural design

  • SE licensure in the State of Arizona, or the ability to acquire licensure in Arizona immediately

  • Ability to manage time and workload effectively, including prioritizing work, planning, and organizing

  • Possess good oral and written communication skills

  • Design experience with a variety of structural materials, including reinforced concrete, steel, masonry, wood, aluminum, etc.

  • Understanding and experience with the governing codes, especially IBC, ASCE7, AASHTO

  • Experience with design of specialty structures and/or atypical designs is highly valued

  • Working knowledge of structural engineering software such as RISA 3D, Enercalc, OpenBridge, Mathcad, Autocad 3D, etc.
