SCI provided structural engineering services for the design and construction phase of a new worship building for the Village Meadows Baptist Church in Sierra Vista, Arizona. The new building provided the congregation with more that 14,500 square feet of meeting and worship space. The building consisted of a pre-engineered metal building with exterior concrete masonry wainscot walls. Scope of structural work included design and detailing for concrete masonry walls, building foundations, elevated pulpit, and a 900 square foot exterior shade canopy supported on reinforced concrete columns. SCI’s extensive experience in the coordinated structural design and detailing required with integrated prefabricated metal building systems was vital to the progress of the project design. SCI performed as subconsultant to architect Lizard Rock Designs. SCI and LRD have teamed on public and private projects for more than 15 years.
